    January 1, 2024

From Art Galleries to a creative Zeitgeist, Bis-Man has cultural offerings from A-Z. Theater, Music, Dance, Visual Art, carefully curated historical sites, museums and more. This list just scratches the surface.

Bismarck-Mandan –Sophisticated City with a Chill Vibe and Plenty to Do

Music Lovers can enjoy the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra and other great performances at the beautiful Belle Mehus Auditorium,  as well as concerts and touring Broadway shows at the Bismarck Event Center. Of course, there is always an eclectic array of live music in smaller venues, too.

Art Lovers should note that The Bismarck Art & Galleries Association Visual Arts Center hosts traveling and local exhibits as well as art classes.

Theater Lovers can enjoy The Dakota Stage Theatre, now in its 45th Season, which offers high-quality, locally-based theatrical productions and performance classes.

History Buffs can hop on the Ft. Lincoln Trolley and take a nine-mile scenic ride along the Heart and Missouri rivers, tour the opulent state capital, or The North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum with its engaging exhibits on Native American culture, Lewis and Clark's journey, and North Dakota's role in aviation history, as well as Theodore Roosevelt’s Rough Riders Hall of Fame and eclectic exhibits on people from Lawrence Welk to Master Sgt. Woodrow Wilson Keeble and Secret Service Agent Clint Hill. Hill saved First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy’s life when her husband was assassinated.

If you’re a writer, artist, musician, or performer, the low rent in Bismarck will give you plenty of space and freedom to work on your craft.
