You don’t have to wait for the weekend to find something fun happening in Bismarck-Mandan. One of the newest and coolest events occurs every Tuesday night between 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM from June through October. Mandan Market Nights (MMN) is an outdoor farmers market that runs along Main Street in Dykshoorn Park. It’s a perfect opportunity to get outside, stretch your legs, and enjoy some of the best vendors and music Mandan has to offer.  

“Mandan Market Nights is the epitome of the spirit of Mandan and its amazing community!” says Courtney Hamilton, Program Developer and Events Manager at Visit Mandan. “It’s truly an amazing event combining the elements of food, culture, art, and connection.”

Celebrate The Inaugural Season of Mandan Market Nights 

MMN first debuted in June 2024 and has already made a big splash in the Bismarck-Mandan community. In the past few months, MMN has doubled the average number of vendors and more than tripled its sales. Hamilton estimates that 300 to 400 people attend the MMN each week and there are between 10 to 14 vendors.  

“MMN has some catching up to do with other established markets in the area, but the start has been very promising and held great reviews,” says Hamilton.

Not only can residents support this cause by attending the market on Tuesday nights, but they can also apply to be vendors. If you have a great idea, a craft, or a passion for producing goods for others, fill out an application to join MMN! There is still plenty of room to grow and each new vendor can attract new attendees who enjoy visiting the market. 

MMN Creates Community and Food Production Connections

Farmers markets like MMN play an important role in communities like Bismarck-Mandan. First, they connect people with the farmers and artisans who produce their food. This gives residents a clearer picture of how produce reaches their tables and how much work goes into the growing process.  

“Food isn’t just fuel to get us through,” says Hamilton. “It is this amazing thing that creates jobs for our fellow community members, teaches us about the land we live on, and brings us together to share history and culture.”
